If you run a restaurant on Quandoo, you've probably already heard: the platform is closing for good. Not scaling back, not selling to a new owner,  shutting down entirely, on a timeline that gives restaurants only a few months to move.

Here's exactly what's happening, the dates that actually matter, how to get your data out, what your options are, and what to watch out for depending on where you're based.

## What happened

On March 24, 2026, [Quandoo announced](https://www.quandoo.it/en/important-update) it would cease operations following a strategic portfolio review by its parent company, Recruit Holdings. Quandoo was founded in Berlin in 2012 and acquired by Recruit for roughly €200 million in 2015, becoming part of a larger global bookings business. That chapter is now closing.

The shutdown affects every market Quandoo operates in, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the UK, Italy, Australia, and Singapore. There's no partial version of this: the platform, app, and back-office tools are all being retired.

## The key dates

| Date | What happens |
| --- | --- |
| June 30, 2026 | Last day to earn Quandoo loyalty points |
| September 30, 2026 | Last day Quandoo accepts new bookings. This is the real deadline for restaurants. |
| October 1, 2026 | Restaurants can no longer manage new or existing bookings through Quandoo — no floor plans, no shift settings, no guest notes access |
| December 31, 2026 | All Quandoo infrastructure taken offline permanently |

The gap between September 30 and December 31 exists so restaurants can wind down cleanly, not so you have three extra months to decide. Once new bookings stop, your restaurant has no live booking channel unless you've already replaced it.

## What happens to your existing reservations

Bookings already confirmed through Quandoo remain valid and will be honoured; reservations are held directly between the guest and the restaurant, not by the Quandoo platform itself. You don't need to re-confirm anything that's already on the books.

What you do lose access to after October 1 is everything else: your table layout, your shift configuration, and the part that catches most restaurants off guard, your guest history. Names, visit frequency, preferences, allergy notes, VIP flags. That data lives on Quandoo's servers, and once they're switched off, it's gone unless you've exported it yourself.

## What happens to your reviews and online reputation

This is the part most shutdown coverage skips. Any reviews or ratings built up specifically on Quandoo's own platform disappear along with it; there's no portability of a Quandoo review score to a new system, because it was never yours to move in the first place.

The good news: your reputation on Google, TripAdvisor, and Facebook is untouched by any of this; those live independently of your reservation platform and always have. The practical task is narrower than it sounds: update your Google Business Profile's booking link before September 30, so the "Reserve a table" button doesn't quietly point at a dead platform after the cutover. Do the same for any booking link in your Instagram bio, Facebook page, and website footer.

## Regional notes

Quandoo's footprint isn't uniform, and neither are the practical concerns:

- Germany, Austria, Switzerland (DACH): This is Quandoo's home market and where it has the deepest restaurant penetration, so the disruption is largest here. If you're restaurant-facing content or marketing in this region, expect guests to actively search for what replaced Quandoo by name; this is where switching decisions will be most publicly discussed.
- UK and Ireland: Quandoo has a smaller market share here relative to OpenTable, so the switch is often less about guest-facing disruption and more about migrating internal table management and guest data cleanly.
- Australia and Singapore: Quandoo confirmed the closure applies fully here too, on the same global timeline, despite these markets sometimes assuming regional platforms get a longer runway. They don't — treat the same September 30 date as firm.
- Italy: Named explicitly in Quandoo's own wind-down communications as part of the phased closure, with no separate timeline.
