To make sure your automated WhatsApp messaging is enabled and you have claimed your free credit, follow the steps from our article [How to enable automated Whatsapp messaging in Eat App?](https://restaurant.eatapp.co/knowledge/how-to-enable-automated-whatsapp-messaging-in-eat-app) Once your automated WhatsApp messaging is enabled, **Step 1:** In the side navigation panel, go to *Messaging* and click on *Message templates* and click on the *WhatsApp* option to go to the WhatsApp activation page  ![Screen Shot 2024-09-05 at 4.29.05 PM](https://restaurant.eatapp.co/hs-fs/hubfs/Screen%20Shot%202024-09-05%20at%204.29.05%20PM.png?width=531&height=317&name=Screen%20Shot%202024-09-05%20at%204.29.05%20PM.png) **Step 2 :**   To create a new template, click on the *New template* button. **Step 3 :** In the new template dialog, click on the dropdown menu for the message type. Here, you can select your preferred message type from a comprehensive list that includes reservation events, waitlist notifications, payment-related updates, and more. **Step 4 :** Choose the message type (event) you want to send a whatsapp message to your customer for.   ![selection](https://restaurant.eatapp.co/hs-fs/hubfs/selection.gif?width=531&height=405&name=selection.gif) **Step 5 :  **Fill out the details like name of the template, header and message content and you can see the preview of the message as it would appear to your customer on the right. > Once a template is added, it will undergo a review process by WhatsApp, which typically takes up to 2 minutes. During this time, the status of your template will change from "pending" to "in review," and finally to "approved."
