How to fix reservation conflicts

Reservation conflicts refer to the internal warning system we've built into Eat App to alert users of issues with certain reservations.

Overlapping Reservations

If two reservations are placed for the same table at the same time, or overlap at any point during the reservation duration, you will receive a message telling you that these reservations are overlapping.

These warnings are visible when creating a reservation in addition to all the views. Warnings of this type will be colored red to indicate that there is a serious issue that needs to be resolved to avoid seating issues.

Table Optimizations

If a reservation for a certain table is either underbooked or overbook, you will receive a message telling you. This is visible when creating a reservation in addition to all the views. Warnings of this type will be colored yellow to indicate that it is not an urgent problem, but rather that there is further optimization that can be done.

These conflict warnings can be switched on or off depending on your preference through the settings tab.

If you have strict preferences enabled, only managers can override these conflicts to create reservations, learn more about preferences and permissions here.
