How to fix reservation conflicts

This guide explains Eat App’s reservation conflict warnings and how to identify, resolve, and optimize booking and table assignment issues.

Overlapping Reservations

An overlapping reservation occurs when two reservations are assigned to the same table at the same time, or when their booking times overlap.

When this happens, Eat App will display a warning to let you know there is a conflict.

These warnings appear when creating a reservation, as well as across all views. Overlapping reservation warnings are shown in yellow, and errors in red to indicate a serious issue that should be resolved to avoid seating problems.

Table Optimizations

Table optimization warnings appear when a reservation is not the best fit for the assigned table, such as when the table is underbooked or overbooked.

These warnings also appear when creating a reservation and across all views. Optimization warnings are shown in yellow to indicate that the reservation can be improved, but may not require immediate action.

Managing Conflict Warnings

Reservation conflict warnings or errors can be turned on or off through Account Management → Permissions.

Reservation warnings are shown in yellow, while errors are shown in red to indicate a more serious issue that must be resolved to prevent seating problems.

  • Yellow warning – You can still create or update the reservation even if the issue is not addressed

  • Red error – You cannot proceed with creating or updating the reservation until the issue has been resolved
